压力传感器是一种将压力变量转换为可传送的标准化输出信号的计量器具，而且其输出信号与压力变量之间有一给定的连续函数关系。主要用于工业过程压力参数的测量和控制。
1、确认测量压力的类型。压力类型主要有表压、绝压、差压等;表压是指以大气压力为基准，小于或大于大气压力的压力;绝压是指以**压力零位为基准，高于**压力零位的压力;差压是指两个压力之间的差值。 2、确认待测压力范围。一般情况下，按实际测量压力为压力传感器测量范围的80%选型。 3、确认系统的**过载。系统的**过载应小于压力传感器的过载保护极限，否则会影响产品的使用寿命甚至损坏产品。美国精量压力传感器都有2倍测量范围的过载保护。 4、确认准确度等级。压力传感器的测量误差按准确度等级进行划分，不同的准确度对应不同的基本误差限;实际应用中，根据测量误差的控制要求并本着适用经济的原则进行选型。
1、测量范围光精度高
测力传感器可测0.01--1000000N的力，精度可达到0.05%FS以上;压力传感器可测0.1-1000000的压力，精度可达到0.1%FS。
2、性能可靠，寿命长
如称重式机械杠杆称，由于杠杆、刀口等部分互相摩擦产生损耗和变形，欲长期保持其精度是相当困难的，采用电阻应变式称重传感器制成的电子泵、汽车衡、轨道衡等，能在恶劣的环境条件下长期稳定工作。
3、频率响应特性极好
压力传感器一般电阻应变计响应时间为0.01MS，半导体应变计可达到0.001MS如能在弹性原件上采取措施则由他们构成的应变式传感器可测几十千赫甚至上百千赫的动态过程。
