a. The waaed performance is olyhe sum of all eors under autocoupled conditions. Underon-autocoupledconditions,he frequencyeadouaccuracy willominally meethe specificatioequation, excepfor coditionsiwhichhe RBWerm dominates, as explained iexamples below. Theominal RBW cotributioto frequencyreadouaccuracy is 2% of RBW for RBWs from 1 Hzo 390 kHz, 4% of RBW from 430 kHzhrough 3 MHz (thewidesautocoupled RBW), and 30% of RBW forhe (manually seleced) 4, 5, 6 and 8 MHz RBWs.Firsexample: a 120 MHz span, with autocoupled RBW. The autocoupledatio of spato RBW is 106:1, soheRBW seleced is 1.1 MHz. The 5% × RBWerm cotributes oly 55 kHzoheotal frequencyeadouaccuracy,comparedo 300 kHz forhe 0.25% × spaterm, for aotal of 355 kHz. Ithis example, if ainstrumenhad anunusually high RBW ceering eor of 7% of RBW (77 kHz) and a spaeor of 0.20% of spa(240 kHz),hetotal actual eor (317 kHz) would still meethe computed specificatio(355 kHz).Second example: a 20 MHz span, with a 4 MHz RBW. The specificatioequatiodoesoapply becauseheSpan: RBWatio isoautocoupled. Ifhe equatiodid apply, iwould allow 50 kHz of eor (0.25%) dueohespaand 200 kHz eor (5%) dueohe RBW. Forhison-autocoupled RBW,he RBW eor isominally 30%,or 1200 kHz.b. Horizotalesolutiois dueohe markereading ouone ofhe sweep pois. Iother cases, such as whemultiplesimultaneous detectors are iuse, additioal eors of 0.5, 1.0 or 1.5 sweep pois will occur isome detectors,depending othe combinatioof detectors iuse.d. Imoscases,he frequencyeadouaccuracy ofhe analyzer cabe exceptioally good. As aexample, Keysighthas characterizedhe accuracy of a spacommoly used for Electro-Magnetic Compatibility (EMC)estingusing a source frequency lockedohe analyzer. Ideally,his sweep would include EMC bands C and D andhussweep from 30o 1000 MHz. Ideally,he analysis ban**idth would be 120 kHz a−6 dB, andhe spacing ofhepois would be half ofhis (60 kHz). With a starfrequency of 30 MHz and a stop frequency of 1000.2 MHz andaotal of 16168 pois,he spacing of pois is ideal. The detector used washe Peak detector. The accuracy offrequencyeadouof allhe poisested ithis spawas with ±0.0032% ofhe span. A perfecanalyzer withthis many pois would have aaccuracy of ±0.0031% of span. Thus, evewithhis largeumber of displaypois,he eors iexcess ofhe buckequaizatiolimitatiowereegligible.
